Prost Takes Pole but takes 10 Place Grid Penalty

Nico Prost takes the full three points from taking pole position in Putrajaya but because of his ten place grid penalty for causing the last lap collision in China with Nick Heidfeld he will start 11th.

This means that the front row will be an all Dragon Racing line up with Oriol Servia starting from pole position alongside his teammate Jerome D’Ambrosio.

Oriol was delighted with the result and said it shows how hard the team have been working over the last 70 days to bring this improvement to the next round.

” We have been working so hard to learn from our mistakes in China and today we are seeing the rewards from that but we still have a lot of work to do in order to stay there for the race” said Servia

The qualifying session proved to be very entertaining, as a number of big names will start from the back of the grid after colliding with the wall. Championship leader Lucas Di Grassi will start from the back of the grid  after hitting the wall causing his rear suspension to break. Whilst the Brazilian driver was trying to nurse his car back to the garage the Alguersuari came up behind him and tried to avoid Di Grassi but ended up hitting the wall as well. Alguersuari will start from 19th on the grid.

It was also a frustrating day for Franck Montagny and Sebastian Buemi as they where unable to set a clean lap time and Montagny was held up by Chandhok on his quick lap which caused the French driver to only qualify in 14th place. Buemi will start the race in 17th after failing to get a clean lap in.

This leaves us for a very exciting race as a number of championship contenders in this Formula E Championship will have to fight there way through the back of the pack to try and rescue a points scoring position.
