Dragon Racing driver Oriol Servia believes that he had a car that could have finished the Putrajaya eprix in second place. Servia had set the second car up to be faster so he could attack in the closing stages of the race.
However when Servia had to leave the pit lane after his car swap during the race. His second car could not find 1st gear and the Spanish driver lost 18.5 seconds in the pit stop.
” It was unfortunate, when we came into the pit lane I could not get my second car in gear. I lost about 18.5 second and we finished 18.9 seconds behind Sam Bird. So this shows that we do have the pace to do well in this championship and we could of finished second in the race.”
Servia also felt that the weekend had its high and low points, which the team will learn for next race as there is still a lot to learn with these cars.
“Overall it was a very positive weekend with a lot of plus points but there was also some points which where not ok, but that is fine because we are still learning like everybody else. It was great to lock out the first row of the grid and it was a shame that Jerome could not stay there but it shows all the hard work we are doing and hopefully we can get a better result in Punta Del Este.”
Servia will be hoping to continue the good form that Dragon Racing showed in Malaysia when Formula E return to racing on the 13th December in Uruguay.
