Buemi ends practice fastest

Sebastien Buemi was the fastest driver in practice two as the Swiss driver looks to extend his championship lead over Lucas Di Grassi.

Buemi who won the first Monaco ePrix in 2015 was just over half a tenth quicker than Sam Bird in second place.

Start of the Session

Nelson Piquet Jr once again was the fastest in the early stages of the session with Jean-Eric Vergne just behind him. Both drivers set a 200kW lap time, which is equivalent to a qualifying simulation run.

In the middle of the session, the drivers settled down into their race simulations. The Dragon Racing duo of Jerome D’Ambrosio and Loic Duval continued their struggles as their race pace was quite a way down compared to the likes of Sebastien Buemi, Nelson Piquet Jr and Sam Bird.

Nicolas Prost had a brush with the wall at the final corner and ripped a little bit of body work off, but the Frenchmen was able to continue on his way.

Qualifying Simulations

Jose Maria Lopez jumped to the top of the timesheets in the final ten minutes of the session, but his teammate Sam Bird went quickest with five minutes reaming.

In the closing stages of the session, the drivers began their qualifying simulations again. Jean-Eric Vergne split the two Ds Virgin’s to move into second.

Buemi jumped to the top of the timesheets with two minutes remaining. The Championship leader just beat Sam Bird’s time by 0.068 of a second.
