Sebastien Buemi has ended the first free practice session fastest, which is exactly what the Swiss driver did yesterday.
Maro Engel showed good pace in the Venturi to finish second, as well as Jose Maria Lopez who finished third fastest.
Yesterday’s race winner Felix Rosenqvist finished fifth fastest in the first session.
The early stages of the session saw both Ds Virgin Racing drivers continue their strong form in Berlin from yesterday as Lopez led the way from Sam Bird after the first ten minutes of the session.
Both Lucas Di Grassi and Rosenqvist didn’t set a lap time in the first 15 minutes of the session, but once they did set a lap time both drivers were on the pace.
Stephane Sarrazin was again quick in the morning for the Techeetah team. The Frenchman was quick in the morning but failed to qualify in the top ten for the race, which is something he will be looking to put right in the race.
Buemi moved himself up to third place with 25 minutes of the session remaining in practice. The Swiss driver was three-tenths off Lopez’s time which the Argentine set at the beginning of the session.
Jean-Eric Vergne split the two Virgin driver’s with ten minutes of the session remaining, as the French driver went second fastest with a time one-tenth slower than Lopez.
Buemi was the first driver to conduct a 200kW lap. The Swiss driver went 1.2 seconds faster than Lopez and was the first driver to enter the one minute seven barrier.
Engel also showed Venturi’s strong qualifying pace with a lap time that was good enough for second in the closing stages of the session.
