Nicolas Prost believes he has had a better season than Lucas Di Grassi this year, despite the Frenchman not securing a podium finish so far this season.
The Renault e.Dams driver felt he has had an extremely consistent season so far, as the 35-year old has scored 72 points this season by picking up three fourth place finishes and two fifth place finishes.
Di Grassi has ridden his luck
Prost believes that Di Grassi has been lucky this season, as the Brazilian have been involved in collisions in Hong Kong and Mexico.
However, instead of finishing outside of the points. Di Grassi has been able to use the safety car to save his race and finish with a win in Mexico and a second in Hong Kong.
“I think I have been more consistent than Di Grassi this season,” explained Prost. “Di Grassi has been lucky with safety cars this season. If there were no safety car in those races he wouldn’t be second in the championship.
“I have had my own problems with the car this season, but I have been able to pick up a large amount of points for the team, which has helped them massively in the constructor’s championship.
“So I think because of that, I have had a better year so far than Di Grassi, but the results and championship standings do not really show that,” explained Prost.
