Felix Rosenqvist has ended the final practice session of the season fastest as the teams conducted their last search to find the optimal balance for qualifying.
Start of the session
The start of the session saw the majority of the drivers running their qualifying simulations. However, Nicolas Prost and Daniel Abt had a small coming together at turn one, with both sustaining damages to their cars.
Jean-Eric Vergne was the quickest driver in the first round of qualifying simulations a the drivers settled into their race runs in the middle of the half hour session.
The Montreal ePrix track seemed to suit the Jaguar racing car. The British team have struggled throughout the season, but they began to look like top ten runners during their lap times in practice.
Loic Duval was on a quick lap for the Dragon Racing team, but he made a mistake at the entrance to the chicane in the final sector and was forced into the escape route.
Last qualifying runs
Rosenqvist moved to P1 with just under 15 minutes remaining. The young Swede put in a stellar lap to go seven-tenths clear of jean-Eric Vergne who also posted a 200kW lap time.
Buemi got within a tenth of Rosenqvist’s time on his 200kW lap time. Di Grassi made an error on his lap time on 200kW and was half a second away from Rosenqvist’s time.
Nelson Piquet Jr had a moment at turn ten. The Brazilian managed to escape without damage and carry on his way.
Mitch Evans made an error in the final minute and was able to stop his car before hitting the wall.
