Jaguar excited about the season ahead

Excitement surrounds the Jaguar Racing garage heading into the Marrakesh ePrix as the British team matched their total season three points tally after just two races in Hong Kong.

Jaguar had a tough inaugural season in the series, scoring 27 points from 12 races. The British team failed to reach the coveted top 5 Super Pole shootout in qualifying during season three, but Season four is already looking like a much more competitive prospect; Mitch Evans secured the team’s first Super Pole appearance in Hong Kong’s Sunday race, and was narrowly pipped to pole position by Felix Rosenqvist.

Evans’ efforts were rewarded in the race with a podium finish; his and Jaguar’s first in Formula E. Despite the improvement in form, Evans is still expecting another tough challenge in Marrakesh.

Hong Kong was an exciting start to the season and a great boost for Jaguar,” said Evans. “The car feels a lot quicker than last season’s racecar, and you can really feel the benefits of the changes we’ve made.

“Marrakesh is a very different circuit, and we will need to focus on making sure that we are racing efficiently and competitively. Points are hard won in Formula E, but we are not afraid of hard work,” the New Zealander concluded.

“Jaguar exceeding expectations” – Piquet Jr.

Season one champion Nelson Piquet Jr. had a positive weekend in Hong Kong after the Brazilian secured fourth place in race one.

The 32-year old wasn’t expecting to be challenging for pole positions and podiums when he joined in the off-season, but Piquet Jr. has been impressed with the progress Jaguar has made.

My first weekend racing with  Jaguar Racing exceeded expectations,” said a delighted Piquet Jr. “To start the season having scored points is positive – but the work doesn’t stop there.

“Mitch and I will be working closely in Marrakesh to make sure we are competing with the front-running teams and fighting for more points. We have shown our potential, but it’s a long season, and we still have improvements we can make,” he added.

Evans and Piquet Jr. currently sit in 6th and 7th in the driver’s championship with 15 and 12 points respectively, whilst Jaguar resides in 5th in the team’s championship with 27 points.
