Jean-Eric Vergne has ended the second practice session fastest after Nicolas Prost crashed at turn nine which cut short session by five minutes.
With the session being cut short a number of drivers were unable to do a second lap on 200kW in preparation for qualifying.
Alex Lynn and Mitch Evans ended the session second and third which confirms Ds Virgin racing and Jaguar racing strong pace from the start of the season.
The two Mahindra drivers ended the session fourth and fifth with Nick Heidfeld and championship leader Felix Rosenqvist in fifth. The top five were also covered by only three-tenths of a second which sets up an exciting qualifying session.
Prost caused a premature end to the session as he crashed at turn none and ripping off the front of his Renault e.dams car.
The first session saw DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird lead another shortened practice session ahead of Rosenqvist and Vergne.
The opening practice session for the race in the Chilean capital allowed drivers to explore the various racing lines in a bid to avoid the harsh bumps of the circuit, with many drivers falling foul of the undulating surface.
Maro Engel forced the session to cut short by five minutes after the Venturi driver locked up into turn three and understeered into the barrier, damaging the front-end of his car and bringing the session to an early conclusion.
