NEXTEV TCR has had a horrible season so far, as the Chinese team who won the driver championship with Nelson Piquet Jr, last season has only scored 14 points this season.
As Formula E hits round seven of the championship, Team Principal Martin Leach believes that the inaugural running of the Paris ePrix could give their team a chance to add to their points tally.
“It’s always a challenge visiting a track for the first time, so it will be important for Nelson and Oliver to learn the circuit quickly in the minimal practice time that we have. They will both have some knowledge of the track due to the work they will do on the simulator ahead of the race.
“As a team, we are excited to be involved in such a momentous event with Formula E racing in the heart of Paris, and will be aiming to end the weekend with both drivers in the points,” said Leach
Piquet Jr is looking forward to the weekend, despite the season the champion is having. He is hoping he can put on a good show for the crowd.
“I think it’s incredible that we will be racing in the centre of Paris by the Eiffel Tower, and it’s going to be really special I’m sure. This event will do exactly what Formula E is all about; bringing exciting racing to one of the most famous cities in the world, and bringing the action to the people,” said Piquet Jr
NEXTEV TCR currently sits ninth in the constructors championship with 14 points, as they look to find a late charge in the remaining rounds of the championship.
