Jean-Eric Vergne has praised the decision by the Techeetah team to bring in Stephane Sarrazin for the remainder of the season as “the best thing that has ever happened to the team.”

Vergne who joined Formula E in season one has yet to have an experienced teammate at Techeetah, and the Frenchman is looking forward to working with Sarrazin.

“We started really well working together, and I am really happy that he joined the team and I think it is the best thing that has ever happened to the team.

” Stephane is so experienced in this sport like me, and we can actually work together to push the team forward and start winning races,” explained Vergne

“I can win here.”

Vergne is also confident that he will be in a position to take his first win this weekend in Formula E. The 27-year-old is hopeful for a clean weekend without incident which should enable him to push for victory this weekend.

“I know we have the pace to win; it’s just doing it now. It was frustrating last time out in Paris that I was chasing Buemi and then a technical failure ends my race.

“The car deserves to win. So I am hopeful that if we have a clean weekend, we have a great chance of crossing the line first,” said Vergne.
