Andre Lotterer will join Jean-Eric Vergne at Techeetah for season four of the Formula E championship. 

Lotterer will replace Stephane Sarrazin who joined the team for the last six races of season three after Esteban Gutierrez left the Chinese team to drive in the Indycar series.

The German driver is also a factory Porsche driver and will join fellow Porsche driver Neel Jani on the grid this season, who is at Dragon Racing.

With Porsche entering Formula E in season six. The German manufacturer has already placed two of its drivers into the series in preparation for their entry in the 2019/2020 season.

Lotterer is delighted to be joining the series with a team that can push for victories at the start of the season.

“Formula E has been the most exciting motor racing series in recent years. Techeetah made a very big impression last season beating a number of manufacturer teams, and I’m looking forward to working with Jean-Eric Vergne and everyone in Techeetah to start this new chapter in my racing career.”

After the finale in season one, Lotterer did criticise Formula E for not being a sport. it will be interesting to see what has changed his opinion on this emerging motorsport.
