Dream Start for Jaguar

After a tough first season, Jaguar Racing came away with the best finish in Formula E after Mitch Evans secured the British team’s first podium in Formula E.

Evans looked quick all weekend in Qualifying and ended the group stages fastest for race two in Hong Kong, but was unable to put the back in pole position.

however, despite the promising one lap pace for Jaguar, they were unable to push for the win as Evans dropped behind Daniel Abt and Edorado Mortara in the race and was eventually overtaken by Felix Rosenqvist during the pit stop window.

“I am proud to secure Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s first podium in Formula E,” said Evans. “It is bittersweet as Daniel (Abt) is a good guy and a mate of mine. After a tough year in our first season, this is a great reward for the hard work of everyone in the team. We will celebrate this achievement together and then work hard to repeat it.”

Nelson Piquet Jr was delighted that the team showed promising pace in Hong Kong. The season one champion is looking forward to Marrakesh where the team hope to repeat the performance from Hong Kong.

“Mitch’s podium is a great start to the season for the team. The car is definitely on a different level to last year. The whole team have improved a lot. Our hopes are high after this weekend’s results. It was a bit of an unknown coming into the weekend so after these two good results on both days hopefully, we have a bit of confidence and can continue to score points throughout the year,” said Piquet Jr.
