Andre Lotterer is set to return to the Techeetah team for the 2018/19 ABB FIA Formula E season.
The German has announced he has signed a “long-term” deal with the Chinese squad, which will see Lotterer continue with Techeetah through Formula E’s landmark the fifth season.
“I will stay with the team for next year. I have signed a long-term commitment with them”, Lotterer told ‘e-Formel.de’.
The German will presumably continue race alongside Jean-Eric Vergne, who is believed to be a co-owner of the Techeetah team.
The 36-year-old’s contract extension opens up the first chapter of the 2018 silly season, which is, with Felipe Massa, Adam Carroll and Jann Mardenborough knocking on multiple teams’ doors, believed to once again majorly reshuffle the Formula E grid.
Lotterer currently sits in ninth in the 2017/18 drivers’ standings, having scored two podiums in Chile and Rome earlier this season.
