Mitch Evans ends the final practice session in New York fastest in a session that was full of traffic as drivers tried to simulate their qualifying runs.
Evans lapped the Brooklyn circuit in a 1:13:207, but the Kiwi had to negotiate traffic on his lap, which a number of drivers had to do.
As well as traffic, drivers had to deal with the dust off-line. The dust was causing visibility issues and causing drivers to make mistakes if they ran out wide.
Jerome D’Ambrosio finished second for Dragon Racing, four-tenths behind Evans. Sam Bird rounded out the top three positions.
Championship leader Jean-Eric Vergne made an error on his 200Kw lap and finished the session in 14th place, something the Frenchman does not want to replicate in qualifying.
Jose Maria Lopez confirmed Dragon Racing’s strong pace by finishing in fourth place, with Sebastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost finishing in fifth and sixth.
Antonio Felix Da Costa finished in eighth place with Oliver Turvey in ninth. The Brit hit the wall on his final run, after setting two purple sector times.
Lucas Di Grassi who was fastest in the morning session finished in 10th place.
