Daniel Abt ended a wet practice session fastest for the final race of the season in New York.

The German managed a lap time of a 1:18:699 as the track was drying up in the middle of the session. The session had a few incidents, as Sam Bird was the first to hit the wall, breaking his right-rear suspension at Turn 11.

Felix Rosenqvist also lost his front wing at Turn 11 after he skated off the track and hit the wall.

Mitch Evans ended the session in second for Jaguar Racing with a lap time of 1:18:796, 0.097 away from Abt at the front.

Antonio Felix Da Costa had a strong session for Andretti as he finished the session third quickest, three- tenths off Abt’s fastest time.

Yesterday pole-man Sebastien Buemi ended the session in fourth place with Lucas di Grassi in fifth.

Stephane Sarrazin continued Andretti’s fine form in practice as the Frenchmen finished in sixth place. Andre Lotterer finished in seventh place,  ahead of season four championship winner Jean-Eric Vergne in eighth. Rosenqvist and Bird rounded out the top ten.

Ma Qing Hua who replaces Oliver Turvey for this race ended up slowest of all. The Chinese driver was 3.4 seconds off the pace.
