Vergne tops disrubted final practice

Reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne topped the final practice ahead of qualifying for the Rome E-Prix.

The Frenchman set a 1:29.370 round the 2.86km track which put him just a tenth and a half clear of championship leader Antonio Felix da Costa, Sebastien Buemi just one thousandth slower than Da Costa, and teammate Rowland was fourth just a quarter of a second behind Vergne.

Mitch Evans was almost four tenths off in fifth ahead of Andre Lotterer and Sam Bird, while Sims was eighth, albeit a second away from Vergne. Daniel Abt and Jerome D’Ambrosio rounded out the top ten.

Edoardo Mortara finished 11th ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne and Maxi Guenther with Robin FRijns and Tom Dillmann rounding out the top 15.

Gary Paffett ended 16th ahead of Oliver Turvey, with Felipe Massa and Pascal Wehrlein the last of those who set a representative time.

Lucas Di Grassi and Alex Lynn were both nearly four seconds off the pace and Jose Maria Lopez set one over 16 seconds off the pace due to causing the red flag.

The session also had it incidents, as Jose Maria Lopez crashed and Felipe Massa had a driveshaft issue which caused a red flag and a full course yellow mid-session.
