Jerome D’Ambrosio has stated Mahindra need to “join the dots” in New York to finish the season off with results similar to the start of the year.
The Belgian driver had a strong start to season five with a podium finish in Saudi Arabia and a victory in Morocco.
But since finishing 8th in Rome, D’Ambrosio has failed to secure any championship points.
The 33-year-old believes the team have not failed, they just need everything to join together for both races to get strong results again.
“We had a dream start to the season and we have had some missed opportunities in the second half of the championship, but we have not failed or lost performance in any way; we just need to join the dots on both race days to finish off the year where we started,”
D’Ambrosio added that he knows the team have the race pace they are looking for and need for the double-header.
“Double-headers are always tough for the team and it’s a challenge both physically and mentally. We know we have the race pace so the key for us in New York is putting everything together starting with smooth practice sessions and finishing strong in the points.”
Team Principal Dilbagh Gill has expressed confidence going to New York and is looking forward to the advantages double-header rounds bring.
“It gives you the opportunities to take the learnings and findings from the previous day and apply them straight away. We are looking forward to going somewhere we enjoy and where Mahindra Racing has performed well in the past.”
