BMW has announced that Maximilian Gunther will test for the BMW Andretti as they continue to evaluate drivers for season six.
Gunther, who raced 10 races for Dragon Racing last season, will join BMW factory driver and FE racer Alexander Sims at the test, which will take place at the Calafat track in northern Spain.
Currently, there are rumours suggesting that Antonio Felix Da Costa will be partnering with Mark Preston again at DS Techeetah next season after Andre Lotterer moved to Porsche for season six.
Da Costa will not be present with the team in Spain as they continue to test their car for season six.
There is heavy interest Gunther from a number of teams, as well as potential interest in the BMW seat for next season if Antonio Felix Da Costa decides to move away from the team.
But Da Costa is not the only driver chasing the Techeetah seat as a statement from DS Techeetah announcing Lotterer’s departure stated that the team had “been approached by multiple high-level drivers.”
Therefore, Gunther may still be looking for a seat elsewhere, unless the BMW decided to bring in the German driver in place of Sims for season six.
