Antonio Felix da Costa has topped the opening practice session for the Marrakesh E-Prix, while DS Techeetah teammate Jean Eric Vergne sat out the session due to a migraine.

Da Costa’s fastest time, a 1:17.863, was just over a tenth quicker than championship leader Mitch Evans, with Santiago winner Maximillian Guenther rounding out the top three.

Oliver Rowland ended fourth ahead of Lucas Di Grassi, Sam Bird was sixth ahead of 2016 winner Sebastien Buemi. Daniel Abt, Jerome D’Ambrosio and Robin Frijns completed the top ten.

Pascal Wehrlein ended the session 11th ahead of Andre Lotterer, Edoardo Mortara and Alexander Sims. Despite setting the fastest time early on, James Calado ended 15th.

Oliver Turvey finished 16th ahead of the two GEOX Dragons of Brendon Hartley and Nico Mueller, whilst Nyck de Vries ended 19th. James Rossitter, who deputised for Vergne, finished 20th.

Felipe Massa ended the day down in 21st, ahead of Neel Jani, with Stoffel Vandoorne in 23rd. Despite doing a lap at 250kw, Ma Qing Hua couldn’t get out of 24th place, over two seconds behind Vandoorne, and 4.3 seconds down on fastest man Da Costa.
