Sam Bird is reportedly set to join Jaguar ahead of the 2020-21 Formula E season, ending his association with Envision Virgin Racing.

According to The Race, Bird has agreed a deal to join the team following the final six races of the current season, and will begin testing for his new team shortly after the finale in Berlin.

The only driver to have won a race in all six years of Formula E’s existence, the British driver will partner Mitch Evans at Jaguar, with James Calado losing out.

Bird has been with the Silverstone-based Virgin team since Formula E’s inaugural season, earning nine wins from 63 starts.

The 33-year-old’s best finish came during the 2017-18 season, where he finished third behind champion Jean-Eric Vergne and Lucas Di Grassi.

Nick Cassidy is reportedly set to replace Bird at Envision Virgin Racing.
