Reigning Champion Antonio Felix Da Costa has ended the final practice session in New York quickest ahead of round 11 of the ABB Formula E World Championship.
The Ds Techeetah driver set a 1.08. 472 to finish the session at the top of the timesheets. The Portuguese racer struggled in Saturdays race after only making one position in the race after starting 13th and ending in 12th.
Mitch Evans ended the session second fastest for Jaguar. The New Zealand driver set a 1.08.521. Yesterday’s pole sitter Nick Cassidy finished third with a 1.08.559 for Envision Virgin Racing. His teammate and joint championship leader Robin Frijns was fourth with a 1.08.565. The top four drivers were all within a tenth of a second.
Rene Rast was fifth fastest for Audi. The German set a 1.08.630. Norman Nato was the lead Mercedes powertrain driver in sixth. The Venturi driver set a 1.08.630.
Pascal Wehrlein was seventh fastest for Porsche ahead of Alex Lynn for Mahindra who was eighth. Lucas Di Grassi ended the session in ninth ahead of joint championship leader Edoardo Mortara in tenth.
Andre Lotterer was 11th in the second Porsche. Jean-Eric Vergne could only manage 12th fastest. The Frenchmen finished yesterdays race in second. Yesterday’s race winner Maximilian Gunther was 13th quickest.
Sergio Sette Camara was 14th for Dragon Racing and Stoffel Vandoorne was the lead Mercedes driver in 15th. Mercedes have struggled in New York so far as both Vandoorne’s and Nyck De Vries title aspirations seem to be slipping away.
Sam Bird ended the session 16th fastest ahead of Jake Dennis and Sébastien Buemi. Oliver Turvey was 19th for NIO333 with Nyck De Vries in 20th for Mercedes.
Oliver Rowland was 21st fastest. The Brit finished ahead of Tom Blomqvist in the second NIO 333 team.
Joel Eriksson was finished in 23rd for Dragon Racing and Alexander Sims was 24th for Mahindra.
