BMWi Andretti drivers Maximilian Guenther and Jake Dennis have topped the sole Saturday practice session which took place in wet conditions.
Guenther set a best time of 1:26.838, which is about five seconds off the pace of yesterday’s dry session, while Dennis was 0.375 back in second.
Andre Lotterer was over six tenths down in third, with Alex Lynn and Sergio Sette Camara completing the top five.
Nyck De Vries ended the session in sixth, just ahead of Rene Rast and the two Nissan e.dams of Sebastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland, who were the last drivers to set a time within a second of Guenther’s benchmark.
Edoardo Mortara completed the top ten ahead of the two Jaguars, Mitch Evans finishing 11th ahead of championship leader Sam Bird. Pascal Wehrlein was 13th, with Alexander Sims and Tom Blomqvist completing the top 15.
Norman Nato was 16th, with Oliver Turvey 17th ahead of the two DS Techeetahs of Antonio Felix Da Costa and Jean Eric Vergne. Joel Eriksson completed the top 20, and Nick Cassidy was the last of those without incident in the session.
Robin Frijns was classified in 22nd after recovering from a spin going down the ramp at the exit of turn 5. Lucas Di Grassi was 23rd after hitting the wall with his right rear at the turn 6/7/8 chicane, and Stoffel Vandoorne failed to set a lap time after hitting the barrier earlier in the session and causing damage to his Mercedes Benz EQ car.
