Pascal Wehrlein has ended the second free practice session for Porsche fastest, as the top four were covered by 50 thousandths of a second.
The German driver set a 1.13.496 to finish fastest ahead of DS Penske driver Jean-Eric Vergne who was four thousandths behind Wehrlein with a 1.13.500.
Sergio Sette Camara was third fastest for NIO 333 who have struggled in recent seasons, but the new GEN 3 era looks extremely positive for the Chinese team.
Mitch Evans was fourth fastest for Jaguar with a 1.13.548, however, it was not a fully positive session for the English outfit, as Sam Bird suffered an MCU failure in the first seven minutes of the session. He was able to restart his car and get back to the pits
The British driver spent the majority of the session in the pits, but di emerge on track to do an installation run with less than a minute left on the clock.
Reigning World Champion Stoffel Vandoorne was fifth fastest in the second DS Penske car behind the impressive Jake Hughes who finished sixth for McLaren.
Jake Dennis thought he topped the timesheets, but ran wide at the final corner of Turn 19 and had his lap time deleted which meant he finished the session in seventh place.
Sebastien Buemi was the lead Envision driver in eighth place, ahead of Antonio Felix Da Costa in the second Porsche.
Lucas Di Grassi rounded out the top ten for Mahindra with a 1.13.717.
It was a difficult session for the Masaretu team as Edorado Mortrara locked up at Turn five on one of his push laps but went onto hit the wall at Turn 19 damaging his rear suspension and causing him to stop on track.
Maximilian Gunther in the second Maserati car topped five of seven sessions in pre-season testing, but could only manage 16th fastest in FP2 with Mortara down in 19th.
ABT Sportsline also struggled as Nico Muller and Robin Frijns were only 20th and 21st in ABT’s return to Formula E.
