Jean-Eric Vergne has taken pole for this evening’s Diriyah E-Prix after narrowly beating Jaguar’s Mitch Evans to equal Sebastien Buemi for most poles in the series.

Jake Dennis will line up third ahead of Sergio Sette Camara, who had a superb qualifying to make it to the semi finals. Norman Nato will line up 5th ahead of championship leader Pascal Wehrlein, with Nick Cassidy in seventh and Max Guenther in eighth.

Because of Vergne’s pole, it means that Group B are prioritised on the odd positions of the grid. this means that Bird will line up ninth ahead of his teammate Jake Hughes. Stoffel Vandoorne will start 11th ahead of Robin Frijns, with Buemi in 13th and Oliver Rowland in 14th.

Sacha Fenestraz will line up 15th ahead of Nico Mueller. Antonio Felix da Costa would’ve started 17th, but serves a penalty for taking out Mueller in Mexico and is relegated to 20th. Lucas Di Grassi, Dan Ticktum and Edoardo Mortara will be elevated a position.

The back row of the grid will consist of Jehan Daruvala and Nyck de Vries.
