Mitch Evans ended the final free practice session in Tokyo fastest for Jaguar racing setting a 1.19.339 to beat Oliver Rowland.
The 29-year-old pipped Rowland on his final run of the session to end fastest. Evans was 0.061 of a second quicker than the Nissan driver.
Maximilian Gunther was third fastest for Maserati setting a 1.19.427, with Pascal Wehrelin one-thousandth of a second behind the German in fourth place.
Antonio Felix Da Costa was fifth quickest for Porsche. The season six champion finished ahead of Jaguar’s Nick Cassidy.
Norman Nato was seventh quickest for Andretti. He finished ahead of Edoardo Mortara, who has proved that the Mahindra car does have some pace around the streets of Tokyo.
Jean-Eri Vergne was ninth quickest in the Ds Penske. The double Formula E champion was sixth-tenths off the pace set by Evans.
Jake Dennis rounded out the top ten. The reigning champion was eight-tenths behind Evans.
Stoffel Vandoorne was 11th for Ds Penske, he finished ahead of Robin Frijns and Nico Muller.
Sebastien Buemi was 14th for Envision Racing. The Swiss driver was ahead of Lucas Di Grassi and Jake Hughes.
Sacha Fenestraz was 17th quickest in the second Nissan. He was ahead of Nyck De Vries who lost his front wing after coming together with the wall.
Sergio Sette Camara ended the session in 19th for ERT with Jehan Daruvala in 20th.
Sam Bird was 21st and Dan Ticktum rounded off the field in 22nd.
