Reigning Champion Pascal Wehrlein keeps the pressure on Oliver Rowland by securing Pole Position for the Berlin E-Prix.

Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein dominated qualifying throughout, securing pole position and three valuable championship points. This reduces Oliver Rowland’s championship lead to 47 points ahead of today’s race.

Dan Ticktum will line up alongside the German driver after setting a lap time of 58.008 — two-tenths slower than Wehrlein’s 57.850.

Oliver Rowland qualified in third place after losing out to Ticktum in the semi-final stage of qualifying. However, he will start from eighth on the grid due to a five-place penalty for his collision with Stoffel Vandoorne in yesterday’s race.

Antonio Félix da Costa, who lost out to Wehrlein in the duels and qualified fourth, will be promoted to third on the grid due to Rowland’s penalty.

Robin Frijns, the fastest loser in the quarter-final stage, will start fourth instead of fifth.

Nico Müller, who was eliminated by Wehrlein in the quarter-finals, will start in fifth place.

Stoffel Vandoorne qualified sixth after being beaten by Rowland in the first round of the duels.

Taylor Barnard, who was the slowest runner in the duels after losing to Ticktum in the quarter-finals, will start seventh. Rowland’s penalty drops him behind Barnard, putting him in eighth place.

The group stage of qualifying was held in dry conditions, but the heavens opened just in time for the duels, adding an extra layer of challenge.

Jake Hughes brought out a red flag after suffering a brake failure at Turn 2 with 54 seconds remaining in Group A. Although the Maserati driver was second-fastest at the time, he lost his best lap for causing the red flag. This dropped him to sixth in the group and allowed championship leader Rowland to progress to the duels.
