Nick Cassidy has taken the championship lead with a stunning drive in Mexico, coming from 13th to win the race.
The Kiwi has also taken Citroën’s first race win in their second race since joining the championship this season.
The 31-year-old used his Attack Modes to win the race and showed that he is a master of the pack-style of racing, using them at the right time to secure victory.
Cassidy took a six-minute Attack Mode to get himself into the lead of the race, but that meant he would have only two minutes of Attack Mode left to defend his lead.
He took his final Attack Mode one lap before Edoardo Mortara, who had four minutes remaining.
Therefore, Cassidy ran out of Attack Mode with two laps remaining, while Mortara was chasing him down with three minutes of Attack Mode left.
However, Mortara seemed to be struggling with energy, which caused him to slowly creep up to the back of the Citroën driver.
Mortara went into the final lap with enough Attack Mode to overtake Cassidy into the first corner, but the Mahindra driver was unable to do so, which allowed Cassidy to pull away and secure his 12th win in Formula E.
Mortara held on to second place from a fast-finishing Oliver Rowland, who passed Jake Dennis—despite Dennis being in Attack Mode—to claim the podium.
The World Champion found himself off the track and down in 17th during the race, but he was able to use his Attack Modes to get himself back into contention.
However, the Brit was able to save his energy well for the end of the race, as he was lapping faster than those in Attack Mode, which allowed him to claim the final spot on the podium.
Taylor Barnard came home in fourth for DS Penske, ahead of Jake Dennis in fifth for Andretti.
Pascal Wehrlein finished sixth for Porsche. Porsche ran first and second in the early stages of the race after Wehrlein was the first driver to activate his Attack Mode.
Müller could have taken his first Attack Mode and stayed in the lead of the race, but with everyone opting to take Attack Mode late in the race, Porsche chose not to use Attack Mode with Müller to control the race. This decision cost them, as Müller ended the race in ninth.
Pepe Martí scored his first points despite starting from last and serving a ten-second stop-and-go penalty during the race.
Jean-Éric Vergne finished eighth in the second Citroën, with Müller in ninth, while Norman Nato secured the final point for Nissan.
Mitch Evans missed out on points, finishing 11th. The Kiwi was struggling with remaining usable energy, as he was running in the top five in the final five laps of the race but ended up dropping out of the points.
Günther was in the wars during the race and finished 12th after being hit by António Félix da Costa at Turn 6, causing him to spin. Dan Ticktum was also collected in the incident, and both he and da Costa retired from the race.
Lucas di Grassi finished 13th, ahead of Joel Eriksson and Felipe Drugovich. Zane Maloney was 16th ahead of Buemi, who finished 17th.
Buemi started from pole position and aggressively defended against Barnard, but he missed his braking point and went off into the runoff area, rejoining in last place. He then suffered a puncture and had to pit, making him the last classified finisher.
Nyck de Vries retired from the race after a brake-by-wire issue, which brought out a safety car.
