Mitch Evans has secured pole position for Saturday’s London EPrix after he defeated Sebastien Buemi in the Final.
The Jaguar driver cut the championship lead to nine points from his teammate after collecting three points for pole position.
Evans set a 1:10.672 to secure pole position by half a tenth from Buemi. Buemi was complaining on the radio about his dash being incorrect on his steering wheel on his final lap.
The Envision Racing driver locked his rears at Turn 16 which cost him a chance to claim three points for pole position.
Pascal Wehrlein will start in third. He missed out on the possibility of picking up three championship points for pole position to try and close the gap to Nick Cassidy.
Norman Nato will start in fourth for Andretti after being knocked out by Evans in the Semi-Final.
Jean-Eric Vergne qualified in fifth place after losing out to Evans. The double Formula E champion set the second-fastest time in the quarter-final stage but, will start in fifth despite being faster than Buemi, Wehrlein, and Nato who progressed to the Semi-Final.
Nico Muller will start in sixth as Nato knocked him out. Oliver Rowland will start from seventh place after being knocked out by Buemi.
Robin Frijns will start in eighth place for Envision Racing after losing out to Wehrlein in the quarter-final stage.
Group A was frantic. The session started damp, and the drivers were lapping 5 seconds slower than they were in free practice two.
Drivers opted for different strategies, and Nick Cassidy missed out on the duels after opting for two push laps, whereas others opted for one push lap and one cool-down lap.
Cassidy, the current championship leader will start the race in 17th.
In Group B, Mitch Evans made it through to the duels after topping the session. However, championship contender Antonio Felix Da Costa failed to make it through and will start in 9th place.
Nico Muller, Norman Nato and Jean-Eric Vergne joined Evans in the duel stages.
Reigning World Champion Jake Dennis rounded out the top ten for Andretti.
