Envision Racing have confirmed an unchanged driver line-up for Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with Sebastien Buemi and Robin Frijns remaining at the team.

After a campaign of highs and lows, both Buemi and Frijns ended Season 10 in extremely positive fashion – bringing home three podiums across the final four races.

Buemi, Formula E Drivers Champion in Season 2, will be entering the third year of the multi-year agreement he signed with the Green Machine ahead of Season 9.

Frijns, who won two races during his first stint for the team, returned to the Silverstone-based outfit last year after a one-year absence.

Sylvain Filippi, Managing Director & CTO of Envision Racing, said: “It’s great to have continuity in our driver line-up as Sebastien and Robin lead us into Season 11. DespiteSeason 10 not being our strongest year, we are confident that the momentum we gained in
the closing rounds can be taken into next season and put us back where we want to be.”

Sebastien Buemi said: “As a team, we improved significantly towards the end of last season to get back to the front of the grid, and the results showed this. We will continue to push to ensure that we head to Sao Paulo with the same level of competitiveness.”

Robin Frijns said: “I started off Season 10 relatively strong, with a podium in Round 3, however it took some time to adjust to the new car and style of racing. We worked extremely hard to make that adjustment and by the end were fighting at the front again, so our focus now is on continuing that into next season.”

In the closing stages of Season 10, Frijns secured a double podium weekend in Portland, bringing home two second-place finishes.

This was followed by team-mate Buemi clinching the final step of the podium in London in Round 15 in July. A double-point finish in the season’s final race – with Buemi in fourthand Frijns in seventh – lifted the Green Machine from eighth to sixth in the overall Team Championship standings.

Season 11 will see the first year of the brand-new GEN3 EVO machinery hit the track, with Round 1 kicking off in Sao Paulo on December 7.
