Antonio Felix da Costa continued Porsche’s strong showing in Season 11 by securing the fastest time in FP1 in Mexico.

The Season Six champion set a 1:10.855, which was two and a half seconds faster than last season’s pole position time, set by Pascal Wehrlein.

Taylor Barnard finished the session in second. The Brit moved to P2 on his final run of the session, setting a 1:10.946 in his McLaren.

Oliver Rowland finished in third. The Nissan driver posted a 1:11.172 on his final lap of the session.

The Season Ten champion, Pascal Wehrlein, finished in fourth, ahead of Mitch Evans in fifth for Jaguar.

Lucas di Grassi was the first driver to set a 350kW lap. The Lola driver recorded a 1:11.463, which was good enough for sixth fastest.

Lola brought a software update for this race as they try to improve on their performance in the first race in São Paulo.

Norman Nato was seventh fastest in the second Nissan. The French driver was ahead of Sébastien Buemi and Edoardo Mortara.

Stoffel Vandoorne rounded out the top ten for Maserati.

Nyck de Vries was 11th quickest for Mahindra. The Season Seven champion finished ahead of Dan Ticktum in the newly-liveried Kiro racecar.

Nico Müller was 13th fastest for the Porsche-powered Andretti team. The Swiss driver was ahead of his teammate, Jake Dennis.

Nick Cassidy was 15th for Jaguar, ahead of Sam Bird for McLaren. Jean-Éric Vergne was 17th for DS Penske, finishing ahead of Jake Hughes in 18th.

Maximilian Günther didn’t set a lap time in the first 15 minutes of the session. The German driver could only manage 19th fastest.

Robin Frijns was 20th for Envision Racing. David Beckmann hit the wall at the final corner after losing the rear end. The German driver was able to recover to the pit lane.

Zane Maloney brought up the rear of the field in 22nd for Lola.
