Nick Cassidy secured his first pole position for Citroën at the Madrid E-Prix after a wet and challenging qualifying session, where multiple drivers made costly mistakes during the duels phase.

The Kiwi set a 1:37.141 to beat Nyck de Vries in the final. The Mahindra driver made a small error at Turn 7, which ultimately cost him a shot at pole, finishing with a 1:37.407.

Antonio Félix da Costa will start from third on the grid, ahead of Norman Nato. Nato’s mistake at Turn 7, where he ran into the gravel, proved decisive and handed Cassidy a place in the final.

Edoardo Mortara lines up fifth for Mahindra, just ahead of Pascal Wehrlein. The German made an error on his lap but was the fastest driver eliminated in the quarter-final stage, placing him sixth on the grid ahead of Maximilian Günther.

The reigning World Champion will start from eighth after spinning at Turn 3 during his duel.

Dan Ticktum qualifies ninth, with Zane Maloney rounding out the top ten for Lola.

Jake Dennis will start ahead of home favourite Pepe Martí. Nico Müller lines up in 13th for Porsche, just ahead of Sébastien Buemi in 14th and Taylor Barnard in 15th.

Mitch Evans will start from 16th on the grid, ahead of Joel Eriksson. Jean-Éric Vergne lines up in 18th, followed by Lucas di Grassi, with Felipe Drugovich completing the top 20.
