Edoardo Mortara delivered a stunning lap in qualifying to secure pole position for the Berlin E-Prix for Mahindra Racing, marking the team’s first pole at the venue since Season 4.

The Swiss-Italian driver was in dominant form throughout the duels, ultimately edging out Pascal Wehrlein in the final with a 57.986 lap.

Mortara’s pace had already been evident earlier in the session, particularly in the quarter-finals, where he set a blistering 56.832—one of the benchmark laps of the day. His pole position not only underlines Mahindra’s resurgence but also earns him three valuable championship points, reducing the gap to the series leader to just eight points.

Wehrlein will line up alongside Mortara on the front row after falling short by just a tenth and a half in the final duel. The Porsche driver had a nervous moment earlier in the session, brushing the wall at the end of his quarter-final lap, but recovered well to secure second place on the grid.

Oliver Rowland will start third after being eliminated by Wehrlein in the semi-finals, while Dan Ticktum impressed once again to claim fourth, lining up on the second row.

Nick Cassidy will start fifth for Citroën, having been the fastest loser in the quarter-final stage, with Nico Müller placing sixth in the second Porsche. Zane Maloney enjoyed a milestone session, reaching the duels for the first time and qualifying seventh after losing out to Ticktum, while Nico Drugovich completes the top eight.

Antonio Félix da Costa will start ninth, just ahead of Taylor Barnard in tenth. Maximilian Günther lines up in eleventh for DS Penske, alongside Joel Eriksson in twelfth.

Further down the grid, Jake Dennis will start from 13th, just ahead of Mitch Evans, who is set to depart Jaguar at the end of the season.

Rookie Pepe Martí lines up 15th, followed by Jean-Éric Vergne and Nyck de Vries in 16th and 17th, respectively.

Sébastien Buemi will start 18th, ahead of Lucas di Grassi, whose qualifying session ended prematurely after hitting the wall and stopping on track. That incident leaves Norman Nato to round out the grid at the back.
