Pascal Wehrlein secured pole position in Berlin with a strong lap of 57.292, putting himself away from the drama behind him at the start.

This result is crucial for the championship fight, as he now sits just one point behind Edoardo Mortara in the drivers’ standings.

Taylor Barnard will start alongside Wehrlein on the front row, missing pole by an incredibly tight margin of just 0.038 seconds.

Starting from third is Nick Cassidy, followed by Joel Eriksson in fourth. Jean-Éric Vergne lines up fifth, with Zane Maloney in sixth.

Further back, Felipe Drugovich starts seventh, and António Félix da Costa will begin the race from eighth.

The Mahindra Racing duo of Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara will start from the fifth row in 9th and 10th, respectively.

Maximilian Günther lines up 11th, just ahead of yesterday’s race winner Nico Müller in 12th.

In the midfield battle, Jake Dennis starts 13th, followed by Sébastien Buemi in 14th. Lucas di Grassi will take 15th on the grid.

Norman Nato outqualified his world champion teammate Oliver Rowland, starting 16th, while Rowland lines up 18th. Splitting them is Mitch Evans in 17th, one of several drivers opting for a strategic position further back.

Rounding out the grid, Pepe Martí starts 19th, with Dan Ticktum in 20th.

A notable strategic twist: with a pack-style race expected, several drivers have chosen to start from the back to conserve energy and potentially gain an advantage later on. Among them are Mitch Evans and both Cupra Kiro drivers.
